## Who Battleship is for

- **Players who enjoy a careful guess:** Read hits and misses, narrow down the possibilities, and choose your next coordinate.
- **Friends sharing one phone:** Take turns offline with a covered handoff that keeps each player’s fleet out of sight.
- **Captains practising on their own:** Choose Easy or Normal computer play without signing in, and return to a saved offline match.

## Features

- **Five ships, one hidden fleet:** Place a carrier, battleship, cruiser, submarine, and destroyer on a 10 × 10 board. Drag, rotate, or use placement controls; Random arranges the fleet for you.
- **Practise offline:** Easy chooses untried waters at random. Normal follows hits to track down a ship. Neither computer opponent can see your hidden fleet.
- **Pass the phone:** Two friends can play on one device without an account or connection. A covered handoff hides the boards until the next player is ready.
- **Call your shot:** Select a square and confirm Fire. An enlarged board and coordinate controls offer more room to aim, with distinct hit, miss, and sunk markers.
- **Return to your waters:** Computer and same-phone matches save locally with recovery copies. Resume from Home, and adjust sound, haptics, and reduced motion in Settings.
- **Online waters are taking shape:** Private room codes, public matchmaking, timed turns, and mutual rematches are implemented for configured test builds. Online service and store release checks are still underway.

## Principles

- **Play locally, without an account:** Computer and same-phone play remain available without signing in. Online matches use a separate account and connection.
- **A guess should stay a guess:** The computer works from shot results. Online opponents receive their own fleet and the information the rules reveal.
- **Make every move deliberate:** Choose a target before confirming the shot, with coordinates and a larger board when you need them.
