Privacy overview Trekspell: Gear & Packing is an offline-first hiking and trekking gear manager for Android and iOS under the application identifier com.beenmoss.trekspell. You may use the core app in guest mode without creating an account. Guest gear, backpack, trip, packing, wishlist, review, and image data stays on your device. If you choose an account, Trekspell processes the information needed for authentication, cross-device sync, media storage, and Premium entitlement. ## 2. Information you provide - Account information such as your email address, optional name, and a securely hashed password. - Gear inventory, categories, weights, volumes, quantities, favorites, notes, prerequisites, relationships, backpacks, trips, packing state, missing items, wishlists, and reviews. - Images you attach to gear or other supported records. - Messages and diagnostic details you choose to send when asking for support. ## 3. Technical and service information Trekspell processes limited request, device, security, consent, and permitted product-event information needed to operate and protect the service. Automated crash reporting is not enabled; local diagnostic logs and API health checks remain. Free-text notes, authentication headers, cookies, and query strings are excluded from diagnostic logging. We do not sell personal information or your gear and trip records. Service providers include application hosting, PostgreSQL database hosting, Cloudflare R2 for uploaded images, transactional email, Google AdMob for advertising, and Google Play or Apple for store purchases when available. Each provider processes information needed for its role under its own terms and privacy practices. Providers may process information outside your country, with safeguards required by applicable law. ## 4. Accounts, sync, and media When you sign in, eligible app records and sync metadata may be transmitted to Trekspell servers so they can be restored and synchronized across devices. Uploaded images may be stored with a media provider. Guest-mode data remains local unless you later choose an account flow that uploads it. Please avoid placing sensitive personal information in gear names, notes, trip descriptions, reviews, or images unless it is necessary for your own use. ## 5. Advertising and Premium Eligible free versions may show Google AdMob ads on limited inventory or statistics screens after any required consent flow. Ads are not shown in Tour Mode, active packing flows, account-deletion flows, or purchase flows. A recognized Premium entitlement removes Trekspell ads. When ads are requested, Google’s advertising SDK may process IP addresses and approximate location, device identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic or performance information for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention. Non-personalized ads still use data for these purposes. Where required, Google’s consent controls appear before ads are loaded; available privacy choices can be revisited in the app. See https://policies.google.com/privacy Google Play or Apple processes store payments when offered. Trekspell verifies purchases directly with the store and links purchase tokens or transaction identifiers, products, purchase and expiry dates, renewal status, and refund or revocation events to your Trekspell account. Trekspell does not receive your complete payment-card or bank details. ## 6. Retention, export, and deletion - Guest data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. - Account data remains while your account is active and for the limited periods needed for backups, security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, and financial records. - You can request an export and permanently delete an account from More → Privacy & account data. - Account deletion removes the account’s active server data, uploaded images, and its local records and secure tokens on the device completing deletion. Other accounts and guest data on that device remain. Deletion does not cancel an Apple or Google store subscription. - Files you exported or shared remain wherever you saved them until you delete them there. ## 7. Security, children, and changes Trekspell uses access controls, transport protections, and platform security features appropriate to the service, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device, account credentials, exports, and backup access. Trekspell is not directed to children. This policy may change when features, providers, or legal requirements change; the date above identifies the current version. ## 8.
