Revelkeep Privacy Policy

How Revelkeep handles local inventory, optional accounts and cloud sync, photos, advertising, subscriptions, and deletion.

Effective August 27, 2026Updated October 9, 2026

Publication notePrepared from the current app implementation. Publisher and legal review for release regions remain required.

Privacy at a glance

  • We use your information to provide and secure Revelkeep.
  • Core inventory works without an account. Signing in enables server sync and paid subscriptions.
  • Photos are optional. Guest photos stay local; signing in adopts guest records into your account and queues their photos for cloud synchronization.
  • We do not sell personal information.
  • Eligible free accounts may see passive Google AdMob ads after the required consent and privacy flow.
  • Google Play processes Android purchases. The planned iOS version uses Apple billing. Revelkeep verifies purchases directly with the relevant store.
  • Privacy-filtered crash and reliability telemetry never includes inventory content, email, photos, or QR payloads.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • You can export a portable copy of your retained account data in Settings.

1. Who we are

Revelkeep is a home-inventory and storage-organizing application operated by SilentGrove (“SilentGrove,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy applies to the Revelkeep mobile app, related services, and this policy page.

2. Information we handle

Account and authentication information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Your password is converted into a one-way cryptographic hash before it is stored. The app stores an authentication token using the secure storage facility provided by your device operating system.

Inventory content you provide

We store the information you enter to organize your belongings. This can include household, room, box, category, tag, and item names; descriptions; quantities; ordering preferences; QR label identifiers; and created or updated timestamps.

Photos

Guest photos are stored on your device. When you attach room, box or item photos to signed-in inventory, the images are uploaded to ImageKit for storage and delivery. We also retain the image URL, provider file identifier, display order, and, when available, image dimensions. We do not use these photos for facial recognition, advertising, or training artificial-intelligence models.

Camera and photo-library access

Revelkeep requests camera access when you scan a QR label or choose to take a photo. It accesses a photo from your library only after you select it. Scanning a QR label does not upload a camera recording. A captured or selected image is uploaded only when you choose to attach it to your inventory.

Technical and service information

Our service records limited operational information, such as route templates, timestamps, processing duration, app environment, and generalized failure types. Product telemetry uses a fixed list of events such as onboarding completion, inventory-record creation, search outcome, QR outcome, sync health, paywall view, purchase or restore outcome, and ad eligibility. It does not include item, room, or box names; descriptions; email; photos; QR payloads; request bodies; or search text. Our hosting and media providers may also process standard connection information, such as IP address, device or browser type, and network metadata, to deliver and secure their services.

Device preferences

Theme preferences and the authentication token are stored on your device. Revelkeep does not collect precise location, contacts, health information, or payment-card details. When eligible free users request ads, Google AdMob collects and shares IP addresses (which may indicate approximate location), device identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic/performance information for advertising, measurement, analytics and fraud prevention. This also applies to non-personalized ads. Consent choices determine when ads may be requested; required privacy choices can be reopened from the Premium screen. Premium, grace-period, and unverified accounts do not request ads.

Purchases and Premium entitlement

Purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple. Revelkeep does not receive your full payment-card number. When you buy or restore Premium, the app sends the store's purchase token or transaction identifier to Revelkeep's servers, which confirm the purchase directly with Google Play or Apple. We store the product, transaction and order identifiers, purchase state (including refunds), purchase time, and store environment, linked to your internal account identifier. That identifier is also attached to the store purchase so Premium can only be restored to the account that bought it. The app stores process the information they need to complete purchases, handle refunds, and prevent fraud.

Offline storage and account recovery

Inventory content and pending changes may be cached on your device so the app works offline. Before signing out with pending changes, you can sync them, keep them for later, or explicitly discard them. Kept changes remain isolated to that account and become accessible only when you sign into the same account again; a guest or different account cannot read them. Account deletion clears that account's local cache and credentials. Guest records stay on the device until removed or adopted into a signed-in account. Adoption adds records to existing inventory and can create names already present in the account. If you request a password reset, we store a one-way hash of a short-lived, single-use reset token and send the link to your registered email address.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • create and authenticate your account;
  • store, display, search, organize, and synchronize your inventory;
  • create and resolve QR labels for your boxes;
  • upload and display photos you choose to provide;
  • protect accounts, prevent abuse, and enforce access controls;
  • diagnose failures and maintain the reliability of the service;
  • show eligible free accounts passive ads after required privacy choices;
  • process purchases, restore access, and verify Premium entitlements;
  • respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests;
  • send password-reset and security-notification email; and
  • comply with applicable law and protect legal rights.

4. Legal bases

Where laws such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR apply, we process account and inventory information as necessary to provide the service you request. We may process limited technical information for our legitimate interests in securing, troubleshooting, and improving Revelkeep. We rely on your choice or consent for optional device permissions, photo uploads, and advertising where consent is required, and on legal obligations where processing is required by law. Purchases are processed as necessary to provide the paid product you request. You may withdraw a permission through your device settings or reopen the in-app ad privacy choices, although the related feature may then stop working.

5. When information is disclosed

We do not sell your personal information. Google may use information described in this policy to select or measure contextual or personalized ads according to your consent choices, device settings, applicable law, and Google policies. We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:

Our providers include ImageKit for uploaded photos, Google for advertising, consent and Android billing, Apple for billing in the planned iOS version, Sentry for configured crash/reliability reporting, and hosting/email providers for account services. Their policies include https://imagekit.io/privacy-policy/, https://policies.google.com/privacy, https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ and https://sentry.io/privacy/.

Service providers may process information only to perform services for us and under their own contractual and legal obligations. You can read ImageKit’s Privacy Policy, Google’s Privacy Policy, Apple’s Privacy Policy, and Sentry’s Privacy Policy. If SilentGrove is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

6. Retention

We generally retain account and inventory information while your account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Revelkeep. Operational logs are retained only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and service administration. Purchase-event audit records and entitlement status are retained while needed to restore access, prevent fraud, handle disputes, and meet financial or legal obligations. Google Play and Apple apply their own retention policies to information they control.

Deleting a room, box, item, or category removes the corresponding record from the active database according to its relationships with other records. Removing an item can remove the app’s reference to its photo, but provider caches, backups, or the underlying uploaded file may persist for a limited period. Contact us if you want the underlying uploaded file included in a deletion request.

When you delete your account in Revelkeep, we delete the account and its associated inventory from the active database and delete associated uploaded media from our media provider. Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcing agreements. Residual copies may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten.

7. Account and data deletion

You can permanently delete your Revelkeep account and associated data from within the app by opening Settings, selecting Delete account, and completing the confirmation.

If you cannot access the app, email us from the address connected to your account with the subject “Delete my Revelkeep account.” Include only the information needed to identify your account. We may ask you to verify control of the email address before completing the request.

You may also request deletion of specific optional content, such as an uploaded photo, without deleting your entire account. We will confirm the outcome of a verified request and explain any information that must be retained for a lawful reason.

Deleting the app or signing out does not delete your Revelkeep account or server-side inventory. Plus and Pro are auto-renewing subscriptions; cancel them in Google Play or Apple subscription settings before deleting your account. Account deletion does not cancel store billing. Existing lifetime purchases remain one-time ad removal. Deleting your Revelkeep account removes its Premium access; a new account cannot automatically restore the old purchase. Contact support for help.

8. Data export

Open Settings and choose Export my data to request a JSON copy of retained account and inventory information. The export intentionally excludes password hashes, active session tokens, reset tokens, and provider secrets. Protect the exported file because it may contain item descriptions and photo URLs.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. These include one-way password hashing, expiring authentication tokens, authenticated household-level access controls, secure on-device token storage, rate limits on authentication requests, and restricted access to production systems. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and complain to your local data protection authority.

You can edit or delete many inventory records directly in Revelkeep. You can revoke camera or photo access through your device settings and reopen Ad privacy choices from the Premium screen when Google requires that option to be available. You can also limit or reset advertising identifiers using your device privacy settings. To exercise another privacy right, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

11. International processing

SilentGrove and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers and take steps designed to ensure that information remains protected under this policy.

12. Children’s privacy

Revelkeep is not directed to children who are below the minimum age required to consent to online services in their location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child without any consent required by law. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Revelkeep’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will update the date at the top of this page and provide additional notice when required by law. Material changes apply prospectively unless otherwise stated.
